He named it as Ippesan and raised him. Knowing that he will live only for sixteen years, Ippesan performed penance in the tank with water till his neck. God did Abhishekam to him with Ganga water, Chandhra water, Mother Goddess's milk, Foam from Nandhi's mouth and water from his Kamandalam and named his as Nandhisar. God also made him the head of the shiva Ganasanas and gave the position of first Guru. Also Iyarappar himself wedded him to a girl called Suyasaambigai in Panguni month, Punarpusa star day. Even now , sapthsthana festival is celebrated with devotion. Once a priest was doing pooja in the Temple. But he couldn't go to the Temple on time for pooja, since ha has gone to Kasi. This news went to the King. The king checked in the Temple. The priest was doing pooja there. The next day the priest came from Kasi. The king and the people got surprised. The lord did pooja to himself because of the love he had on the priest. ln this place Thirunavukkarasar got the Dharshan of Kailasam. In the dream of an orphan boy , Yama told that he will die after 5 days. The boy got scared and worshipped the Lord here. The lord sent the incharge for the southern direction ATKONDAR to punish yama. There is a Sannidhi for ATKONDAR in the southern part of the Temple.
