As they grew older and reached the age for marriage, they realized their true divine identities. However, since they had been born as brother and sister, they could not marry each other.

Distressed by this situation, they prayed sincerely to Lord Shiva for guidance.

Moved by their devotion, Lord Shiva appeared before them and gave a divine solution. He asked Saraswathi Devi to remain at that sacred place and bless devotees as a Kanya (spinster) goddess, granting them wisdom and education.

Following Lord Shiva’s instruction, Mother Saraswathi stayed at Kuthanur and continues to bless devotees who pray with sincerity and devotion.
