He took the earth and kept it in the pathala lokam. The Lord took the form of a swine as the incarnation and got back to the earth. The Temple History says that the Lord Varaha, with Mother Earth (Booma devi) seated on his left lap, consecrated himself on the banks of the Varaha Tank, on a full moon, star Magam day (Mahamagam). The feminine form of varaha Avataram is varahi Devi.
